Calendar - Club Social Events

The Club offers a variety of social activities for members who enjoy hitting the open road in their Alfas - or simply enjoy the company of other Alfisti. Activities range from restaurant evenings to extended week-ends away in the country. Occasionally, a social outing will coincide with the opportunity for members to display their pride and joy at a classic car show or other display. The Club's insurance coverage for events is provided by Motorsport Australia. Members' family, potential Club members and non-members may attend Club events, however it is the Club's policy that they sign an Event Disclaimer and Indemnity acknowledging that they participate at their own risk and indemnifying the Club, Committee and Members against all or any claims, suits, actions, demands and costs from injury or damage.

Pat Rafter Arena, 109 King Arthur Terrace, Tennyson		Wheels of the World Car and Bike Show for Variety (charity) - I'm sure that you've heard of Variety - the children's charity. I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard of their famous 'bashes' through the outback, all to raise money for children in need. Bryan Ponting, the Variety Club organiser (and friend of club member, Neil Summerson), is arranging a "Wheels of the World" car and bike show at the Pat Rafter Arena, 109 King Arthur Terrace, Tennyson on Sunday the 28th of April 2024. He's hoping for 100 cars, and we know at least 10 Jags are going. So it would be great to get a few Alfas there too. But that's just three and a half weeks away as of when I'll send this email. It'll cost $30 to display your car, and vehicle entry is from 8:30AM. Contact Bryan to register your car on 0418790962 or accounts@brymad.com.au. I suggest that you do so quick - I imagine he'll get those 100 cars pretty quickly. Of course, you don't have to show your car, but you can support this great cause by coming along to check out the cars and making a gold coin donation for entry. See you there!

Caboolture Airfield, Caboolture		Mac's Bridge Car and Plane Display - Triumph Sports Owners Association Qld has been joined by the MX5 Club Qld and Caboolture Aero Club in organising the 2024 event, which will be at a new location with exciting new attractions. In addition to the usual car displays, visitors will be able to view classic aircraft exhibits. Three awards for display vehicles will be presented. Entrance fees: Display car - $20 per car; Visitors (including parking) - $15 per car. Gates open for display cars at 7:00am and visitors at 9:00am. Directions to Caboolture Airfield: From Bruce Highway, take Bribie Island off ramp (exit 152A) and proceed towards Bribie, keeping in left lane. Take the left turn at the first set of traffic lights, keeping in the right hand of the two left hand turn lanes. After the turn, keep straight on along Aerodrome Road until you reach the airfield and follow local direction signs (street address is 157 McNaught Road, Caboolture). Prebooking is highly recommended. [BOOK ONLINE] AROCA club member Tony Nelson will be coordinating the AROCA attendance. tba		Christmas Party - Come join us to review the year that was, and celebrate all the fun we had together. The format will be a sit-down three-course lunch (starters, main, desert).

South Australia		Alfesta 2025 Day 0 - Each year, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Australia holds a national gathering. State Divisions take it in turn to host the event. In 2025 Alfesta will be held in South Australia and will NOT run over the Easter long weekend, but from Thursday 3 April to Monday 7 April. The event officially runs from Friday to Monday, however, most attendees choose to arrive on Thursday and there is an informal supper for those who wish to kick off the fun early. Join your fellow Alfisti for four days of fun and social events which can range from games for the young and old, to tours of local attractions, an observation run, a show 'n' shine and finishing with a formal dinner at which the various Alfesta event trophies are handed out. Many club members have been regulars at Alfesta for many years and they look forward to catching up with old friends and renewing longstanding friendships.
